A cause des vents violents, l'aéroport de Funchal a été fermé pendant 2 jours retardant notre arrivée. Contents de retrouver notre bateau en pleine forme à part d'un chargeur de batterie cassé. Une semaine pour nettoyer et préparer le bateau, le remettre à l'eau et sortir La Contrebasse Voyageuse de sa longue sieste! Ca y est on est prêt à hisser les voiles pour la traversée vers les Canaries (Porto Santo - Tenerife = 300 miles marins), 3-4 jours de navigation si on a du vent et des bonnes conditions.....
Due to strong winds, the Funchal airport was closed for 2 days delaying our arrival...When we finally landed in Porto Santo, we were delighted to find our dear VIVE LA VIE patiently waiting for us....a part from a broken battery charger, we found her as we left her a year ago. A week of cleaning, prepping, putting her back in the water and waking up The Travelling Doublebass from her year-long nap! At last we're ready to set sail for the Canary Islands (Porto Santo - Tenerife = approx. 300 nautical miles), 3-4 day sail if the wind and conditions are favorable...
